My 4-year-old daughter got roller skates for her birthday a few weeks ago and wants to go skating all the time now. I told her I’d take her this afternoon, and I provided a time where I thought the game would be over, or close to over. We ended up leaving the house when we got up 16 in the 4th quarter, and was pretty sure we were in good shape. As if I have never seen this team play before.
Anyway, we get there and I’m watching us fall apart, and subsequently salvage the win, on my phone, with YouTube TV and my AirPods in my ears on full noise cancellation. I am not aware of what is going on around me at all.
On the skating rink, they have an organized game of “red light, green light” going on for the kids. Nobody out there is older than 10 years old, and they are all pretty novice roller skaters, but they’re out there doing their best not to face plant as they work their way from one end to the other.
When Mukuba made the pick, I yelled (apparently pretty loud) “Hell yeah! It’s about time!”
According to my wife, this outburst correlated with the PA guy calling some kid out for moving during a red light, and he had to go back to the beginning or something. And everyone there thought I was cheering for that kid getting penalized.
I thought it was funny.
