Jim Crane paid 610 million for the Astros in 2011. Forbes puts the Astros value at 2.45 billion. 400% increase of 1.84 billion over 13 years. That is 1840 millions!! Why not just pay whatever it cost to keep your stars like Bregman, Tucker, etc. if I was the owner I would do exactly that and if I lost some millions so what. Keep winning and enjoy it. He gets to own the most successful franchise as far as winning is concerned in MLB. You can’t take your money with you. I would want to win regardless of the cost. The fans would love me!!!!!
