Sark said immediately after the game, to an on field reporter, that they "stubbed their toe" a few times.... No Sark, you and the team spent the better part of 45 minutes beating your ankles with a 16lb sledgehammer. But, when it mattered the most, our team found a way to win.
Hats of the defense! For all their woes later in the game, the reality is they spent virtually 40 game minutes on the field. Often times w/very little rest as our offense went 3 and out quickly. The fact that they bent but didn't break is a testament to how good these men are.
Quinn Freakin' Ewers! People love to hate him around here, but he came up clutch in the biggest moments of the game. I had very little to no confidence that we'd convert that 4th and 13. And then the clutch throws to Helm and the 2-pt conversion. As a former collegiate baseball player, I always carried the mantra, "It's not about being great all the time, but being great at the right time." And that's what he was. Proud of ya, Quinn.
We know the O-line can play better. Total head scratcher how they let a significantly undersized defensive front manhandle them like they did. Having a 100% healthy line will help, and hopefully it's a coachable/fixable thing that can be shored up prior to Jan 10th.
Auburn HAS to better. We've seen him make big kicks before, so it's not like he can't do it, but for some reason he's been in a funk for a while. We're going to need him again, so hopefully he can figure his crap out.
this was a game where fate tried like hell to keep us from winning. The media was salivating over Scattebo, and ready to crown him the media darlin' and had the script written, yet, our team refused to quit and came up with an exhilarating win.
PROUD AS HELL OF THIS TEAM!
I live in Dayton, OH, so this next week or so is going to be hell dealing with these Buckeye crazies, but I'll be reppin' my Texas flag in my yard LOUD AND FREAKIN' PROUD.
