I don't think Hillary is going to win, although if you check my post history you'll see I voted for her.
I'm up late tonight and decided to play out what I think would be the most interesting way an impeachment would pay out before it becomes a moot point in a few days.
First, you need 67 votes in the Senate to convict which Republicans aren't gong to have without going outside the party.
Most say it's a non-starter but think about this:
The House impeaches Hillary and the Senate holds the Trial. Lets figure that Trump does well down ballot and you get 53 Republicans in the Senate. You need 14 others to come along for the ride.
If the Democrats are smart - they vote to impeach as well! They should only do this after securing a VP nominee and assurances that they will be confirmed in both Houses.
I think they should impeach Hillary, elevate Kaine, and bring back Joe Biden.
Think about it - you keep a D President, you bring back a completely uncontroversial VP who has already been elected previously and has foreign policy experience.
You get out from under the cloud of investigations that will sit over Clinton from day one. You get an almost automatic fresh start with the voters. You get out from under the DNC scandal, the email scandal, the Clinton Foundation scandal.
Most importantly, the American People get to quit hearing Republicans whine about Clinton.
