- WR Armanti Foreman is back at practice full speed. He's out there and looking good per a source.

- Freshman WR Reggie Hemphill-Mapps is back at practice.

- RT Tristan Nickelson and C Zach Shackelford remain out of practice and in the pit.

- One source said Shackelford is already hitting the sled, so perhaps he is further along than Nickelson contrary to previous reports we'd gotten.

- Jake McMillon remains at first-team center in the absence of Zach Shackelford and has been impressive. It would lead fans to think that there will not be a need to cross-train a natural guard like Vahe (during team reps at least) at center just to manufacture depth.

- If Texas were to play Notre Dame tomorrow with Shackelford and Nickelson still ailing, we're told Brandon Hodges would start at RT with McMillon at C.

- There have been reports that Kai Locksley is working out at WR and we've confirmed this to be true.

- Senior DE Bryce Cottrell is in the pit with a minor lower-leg injury. His availability for the opener is not in question.

- Senior DT Paul Boyette remains limited in practice and a non-participant during much of the contact work. This is an issue not getting enough attention from fans as Boyette is the senior leader on a depleted defensive line.

- We're being told that CB Antwuan Davis may be taking the nickel corner job over from sophomore PJ Locke. Davis took all the snaps with the ones on Wednesday while Locke worked with the twos.
