I can't stand him, but hope this is not true - always sad to see someone's public demise. But if true - who would you pick for the next TCU coach?

Leave it to a disgruntled player to cause problems. If he’s been disappointed about playing time to date......I seriously doubt it gets better for him going forward. Time to get that McDonald’s application filled out

Marshall Newhouse said it best by saying to be mature about it.
Patterson bleaped the word out. Shouldn't have, but he wasn't directing it to anyone.

Call me a weirdo, but I come from a world where it is pretty normal to get bitched out and demeaned by your coach. These players are so emotional these days. We will probably see more and more of this

If I were Patterson, it would be very hard not to make an example out of this crybaby player or to let him go from the team. The tail cannot be allowed to wag the dog. This bs will have to be addressed by the coach and it sounds like bs. From here on out will every player that has a gripe will just put it out there that the coach said the n word to cause trouble to deflect from their own shortcomings? Yes, they will if this is not dealt with.

Fire his ass

so i guess the words whitey, honky ,cracker all ok and the world goes on but use the n-word then its a news headline. What does this tell you?

This is ridiculous, assuming TCU put out a true story. Patterson was just trying to reprimand the young man for using the n-word with his teammate.

Blacks are fine with using the n-word with one another, but try to get you fired if you're white and you quote them. So much for singing karaoke.

Ridiculous.
