Putting the last two weekends out of my mind, and this coming weekend being a bye week for UT Football leads me to some happier thoughts.
One week from today, the Texas Baseball Team ‘officially’ begins their fall season. They open with a game next Sunday at The Disch against San Jacinto College. The following weekend is a game on Halloween at 1 PM vs McLennan CC at The Disch. They’ll close out Fall Ball with the annual Orange/White Fall World Series on 11/4-11/6.
All events are free and open to the public.
Additionally the coaching staff is putting in work by getting commitments from a couple of really solid prospects this past weekend.
The team is going to be top 5 preseason and it wouldn’t shock me to see them ranked #3 or higher by some publications. They are stacked with talent and will have a very deep roster. All reports coming out right now are very positive.
This leads me to my next question, and it’s for @Ketchum; with all of this going on, could you provide the baseball folks here with an update on the new baseball person for OBs? When can we expect someone? Do you have anyone that will cover the fall events if you don’t have anyone lined up for the full-time gig, like say, @BlakeSkaggs?
There are a good number of us Seamheads here that would welcome some coverage, and that number likely goes up with the results we’ve seen on the gridiron as of late. So what’s the scoop? 🤘🏼⚾️
