The early signing window closes today. While most players have closed the book on their recruitment, or have proclaimed they're going to wait until February to sign, there are a couple of players we're monitoring today.

As we reported yesterday, Texas has officially put an offer on the table for wide receiver Aaron Butler, and Butler told us he'll sign today with either Texas, Washington or Arizona. The Rivals250 member and former Colorado commitment will be an early enrollee.

This one's such a unique recruitment that it's hard to pin down. Texas just jumped into the race and Butler has never visited UT. I don't believe he's visited Washington either (he did take an Arizona OV last weekend).

Here's where things get interesting ... there's some talk among recruits that Butler is favoring Texas. I'm not going to pretend to have a great read on this one, but that's the grapevine chatter that's been making the rounds this morning.

Longview Pine Tree defensive lineman Dealyn Evans is planning to announce his final decision today (unless things change once again). He's been back and forth on whether or not he'd sign early or wait until February, but it looks like we could have a final answer on this one at some point today. Evans is currently committed to A&M and he's told us he'll post a firm time for his announcement sometime today ... so two announcements of sorts.

This one has bounced around all over the place and it could still have another twist or two, but we're expecting Evans to announce and sign at some point today. There's some mild confidence in College Station that Evans will stick with A&M, but I don't think anyone truly knows for sure which way this one will fall.
