At Texas, he always came across as an even-tempered, and good-mannered human being. For that, I wish him much success.I like Strong. I am glad he is not the coach at Texas anymore.
If I was getting an 11 million dollar gift to leave I would throw the party myself...not to mention the 15 plus million he has already made. We are not cheering for his firing to punish him. We are happy that Texas can try to move forward and win again. We know with Strong that was NOT going to happen. We all like Strong the man. Not the coach at Texas though.I would never rejoice when a man loses his job.I want to Thank Charlie for his efforts and best of luck in his future.
I think UT is paying off his Louisville contract also....still money worth spent to get rid of.If I was getting an 11 million dollar gift to leave I would throw the party myself...not to mention the 15 plus million he has already made. I will cheer for Strong against anyone other than my Texas Longhorns. He is a good guy.Charlie Strong is a great man, and he will learn from his mistakes at Texas and become a better coach at his next job. I fully expect him to be coaching somewhere next season. He will likely workout a buyout that saves the University a couple million and he will be free to take a job for about 3 million, maybe he will be the next coach at Houston. It would be an excellent landing spot for him.

HOUSTON --
The Texas Longhorns will hire Houston coach Tom Herman as their next head coach, sources have confirmed to ABC13.
A formal announcement is expected Saturday afternoon. Herman will replace Charlie Strong, who was fired earlier Saturday after a 16-21 record in three years at Texas.
No joke. The worst thing about getting fired for most folks is wondering where the money will come from. He doesn't fall into that category. If I was him I would be a little aggravated, a little embarrassed perhaps but I'd get over that shit in the same day. It's really all about the money. He'll get other coaching opportunities but at this point, it's no longer about securing his financial future. Damn I'm jealous.
