Jay Norvell

Norvell served us well as an interim OC when we were really between a rock and a hard place with few options. Glad he's found a soft landing spot and wish him the best.

Hopefully the present OC and coach Strong have someone in mind as a replacement.

I look forward to seeing the coaching hires.

I was happy with our WR blocking this year for the first time in many years. I think Norvell's a damn fine coach, but I understand the desirability of letting Sterlin shape the offensive staff to his liking (but hands off Traylor!).

Liked what he brought a whole lot but he isn't someone who is going to help install the new offense.

Seems like Strong is learning he needs everyone on the same page on that side of the ball. Look for the WR coach to be from the Briles/Babers coaching tree. Sowder at BGSU comes to mind. WR coach and recruiting coordinator.

Good luck to Norvell....he is a good coach. I can understand him leaving.....under Gilbert he had no place. He did a good job for us.

At 5 mil. Per year it's comforting to know he's finally getting it, right? Norvell was always good at teaching downfield blocking.

I wanted him to stay. He's a solid coach and good recruiter. I don't blame him for leaving though. Kinda got a raw deal here. No ones fault just circumstances.
