Buddy of mine owns Jim’s Smokehouse. He just opened a new location downtown off Barton Springs. If you are in the area and like great BBQ go check it out. I wouldn’t recommend it if it wasn’t any good. Ranked #5 on Yelp’s list of top 100 places to eat in Texas in 2023.
The Habanero taco and Surfer Slamer sammy are my go to options if I’m not ordering a plate. All the meats are on point and I typically hate turkey but even it is really good. Brad’s vinegar based BBQ sauce, sriracha slaw, green chili corn and both desert options are excellent.
