Oklahoma’s star running back Joe Mixon was suspended for the team’s upcoming game against Iowa State for the always-nebulous crime of “violating team rules.” According to his lawyer, who spoke to The Oklahoman, Mixon received a parking ticket this morning, then “tore the ticket up in front of the parking attendant, and threw it on the ground.”

Mixon issued an apology for being a dick to the parking attendant:

When I played college ball our star running back got a parking ticket from a school patrolman. He paid it and kept it. Every time he parked illegally from then on he put it under his wiper and never got another one. Genius. Kids nowadays need more wit.

Exactly on the entitlement part. If he had been 3 star running back he would have been kicked off the team after caving in that girls face. But if you are a 5 star you can get away with just about anything. Hopefully somebody caught this on their phone

It concerns me anytime an institution of higher learning and law enforcement agency goes to extensive lengths to hide a vicious assault by a grown man against a woman. It really has nothing to do with football to me. If a Texas player did what Mixon did, I would want him in jail, not representing my university.

Glad to know that you have such a casual concern about violence against women.

Let's say you did see this 100lb woman attack a 225 pound football player. Was it with a weapon or her itty bitty fist? I suppose you're ok with Ray Rice KO'ing his girlfriend too.

I'm a minority myself and have been called not so nice things doesn't mean I go off and punch people in the face. I actually have self control and words just don't have that affect on me.

Why are you under the impression they were colluding to hide it? I think pretty much every football fan in the country was aware of it and the details of the video when it was showed to the media. If you want an example of law enforcement, the university, the team colluding to hide assaults, look at baylor.

The woman assaulted him and he defended himself with one blow. He wasn't punished heavily because she should have counted the costs before instigated the incident verbally and physically.

It isn't when the person verbally and physically instigates the attack. If a black guy just strikes a woman in public in front of witnesses he would have just been off the team and maybe even jailed, but that is not what happened.
