I get that everyone is trying like mad to be first out with a big story, but it appears to me that every site I can find that covers Longhorn football was guilty of crappy reporting.

We( the crazy enough to follow all this fans...those crying "please dont tear our thirsty lips from the fountain of knowledge") have been jerked around by anxious typers (dont deserve to be called writers) trying to out scoop each other. Arent stories supposed verified before they are put out?....Is this the best we can expect?

Why report that Cumbie is coming when it was not yet down on paper?...Why report that Sterlin is coming when the deal wasn't done?...why report the deal was dead when it in fact wasnt?

Frankly, heads should roll. They won't, but they should. On 247, Bobby whats his name is being raked!...On Shaggy Bobby whats his name ( ok,ok...Burton) is being raked!....Higdon, Bohls...and anyone else is deservedly getting raked!...In the meantime our big recruiting weekend has turned to emergency recovery.

I dont discount the inept way this search has been carried out from the top on down. I am grateful to our President for getting the deal done. It will be a long time I suspect before we ever,if we ever, find out what really happened. I am sorry if I dont trust anyone currently reporting to give us the true story.

Some good points Oldhorn but the deal with Gilbert did appear to be done as far as Gilbert's side was concerned. It was a ploy probably no doubt and it apparently worked like a charm. It appears that Gilbert walked away with more than what was being offered to the first choice Cumbie. Gilbert's team evidently milked tge whole deal for what they could. At least that's how it's played out.

Funny, that is EXACTLY how I felt when Texas whooped bailor. Mighty God Fearing bailor. That loss has your panties pulled to tight. Relax. Heck by now if you watched bailor vs. Texas for more than the last few years you should be used to Texas beating bailor. bailors little run is about to come crashing down.

Yep, horns barely held on beat our 7th string QB's butt. Hell I would give Charlie another 5 yr deal. We think he is great coach down on the Brazos.

I prefer the Russel Athletic Bowl against a higher ranked opponent in North Carolina at number 10 than old miss in the Sugar.

I agree you will prolly be watching the rerun of your historical upset of the Baylor Bears. I did that numerous years back in the dark ages when Baylor couldn't win 6 games.

In all seriousness, keep that chin up, cause with new OC you could win 6 next year. Yep, anythings possible if you keep modeling UT after Baylor!

in all seriousness....you act like we had all our front line players available....which was very far from the case.7th string did you say?...I applaud Bryles for having the foresight to have 7 QB'a on the roster in the event of emergency, which is a wise thing to do...one that a coach should always plan for. Strange that he did not bother coaching No.s 4...5..6..and 7 to play the game.

I would advise not jumping into the big boy smack pool unless you can at least dog paddle.

Number 4 QB was our punt returner 2nd string WR. Numbers 5, 6 and 7 were all backup Running backs.

Our 1 and 2 RB's went down too. So both teams were playing injured beyond belief.

Truthfully it turned out to be an exciting game and I enjoyed all the plots while enjoying the total environment of the stadium.
