He came from a wing-t offense and only was offered by schools because of his father. More bad QB recruiting by Watson. No legit QBs on campus until Ehlinger arrives in January to compete. Shane basically was given the QB spot. The kid from Sachse is a legit QB, 6'2" 208.
Really, so Oregon, Georgia Auburn, Baylor, Florida state.....plus many , many more all offered his dad a job ? So he was a 4 star because of just his dad...sorry, don't buy it.

LOL, the kid was recruited to Texas as a QB, but most other schools were recruiting him as a WR. I know if he went to FSU he would have been 100% a receiver.
As far as I'm concerned he gave it a shot and didn't succeed. No disgrace in failure, just needs to find the right place if he still thinks he can be a QB.
Texas still has Merrick in the system so if something happened to Shane we aren't completely dead in the water.
When Ehlinger arrives on campus, Texas will then have 3 legit QBs it can fall back on. However, unless Shane gets hurt, I think Merrick keeps holding the clip board and Ehlinger redshirts.

Can't can't blame the kid. The way Shane has played and with Seth coming in. He wasn't likely to see much time.
You talking about Locksley? I don't know anyone that has been bragging about him, most of us thought he was a project with a big arm. Near as I can tell, the only 5'star guys we got were all on the defensive side of the ball. Which Texas 5'star guys are not working out for us? Jefferson? Fowler? Jones? McCullough? Don't know any others we have on our team.
Now if you were talking to aggsy, yea, all those 5'star QBs worked out great for them.
