We have a fairly small bit of land (17 acres) that we are going to sell just outside of Goldthwaite. Anyone know some good land agents in the area?

Ricky McKinnerney in Richland Springs. Great guy and jack of all trades even calls the 6 man football game on the radio. Travels across the country making videos of ranches for sale due to the quality.

Based on what I have heard we should be able to get at least $150k for it.
It is on water? From Brownwood and been looking for land for a while. Haven't seen anything going for almost $9M an acre unless good elevation and river/creek access. Anything under about 20 acres though does seem to bring a premium right now. Things are ever changing though.

We have a tank on our property but it doesn't hold water year round.

I used to hunt in Goldthwaite. Love that place! Arrow heads galore too. Wish I could buy it from you. Any structure on it or just land?

I live in Goldthwaite now. Hit me up if you want local. I’d suggest local. When I moved back here, I wouldn’t bother with listings from agents outside of the area. Plenty of people have Mills County on searches looking for hunting land or small acreages to build on. I grew up here and it’s amazing to me how many people we have in town now that are moving in from the city.

Funny story. My father-in-law was fishing in Zimbabwe where they live and he starts up a conversation with a guy next to him and when my father-in-law asks him where he is from he says " No way in hell you have ever heard where I'm from", FIL asks him where and he says Goldthwaite. FIL says yep, I know where it is, I've even been there! Guy from Goldthwaite was blown away...

They have a lot of bobcats out that way?

I we
How do you know Bryan? I grew up and live here. Know Bryan well.
I went to college with Bryan and many other Goldthwaite guys. Also my wife is from Evant met a few people
through her family.

Careful he is my cousin and owns a Farm and Ranch Reality firm. His full name is Robert Townlin Dube. The Dube family is Wendish and came over on the Ben Nevis in 1984 to Texas from Saxony Germany.

If it is the same Dube family, they use to or do still own a house in the ghost town The Grove (east of Gatesville) and before they sold it actually owned the entire town, including buildings and all. One of the buildings was a Saloon and it contained a lot of furniture that was used in Lonesome Dove.

Known the Dube family for a long time. My family is also Wendish and came over to Texas from Germany back in middle 1800’s.

any idea how much it's worth appx?

Yes it is. Bob is the grandson of Martha and Bill Dube (as is my husband). My sister-in-law, Fran Moyer, is the granddaughter of Martha and Bill Dube and bought the buildings back in the auction in 2010. Unfortunately the tables in the saloon were sold in the auction before Fran won the bid on the buildings.

You might know the Symm family then from The Grove. Rogers and Sherry took care of the Dube house for years. That’s my grandparents.

Yes I know them well. I went to Rogers funeral. I really need to go by and see Sherry. I haven't seen her since she recovered from Covid. You are obviously related to Matt May. Who are your parents? I live in The Grove.

I am indeed. Matt is my first cousin. My father is Robert, the eldest and only son of Rogers and Sherry. Small world indeed!
