Sorry hit "post thread" instead of insert. This is supposed to be posted in the AM
Some know this, others don't.
On this day (23 Oct) in 1983, my roommate and 219 other brother Marines, 18 sailors, 3 soldiers and 58 members of the French Military in a cowardly attack.
While I realize many of you (most?) were not even born yet, this is the event many refer to as the 1st shot in the Global War on Terror. Make no mistake, that war is not over.
1st Lt Don "Wooly Bear" Woollett was a fine Marine and even a finer man. He was quiet, highly intelligent and loyal to a fault. His life was taken (as were the others) far far too soon.
This attack was funded and organized by the Iranians and carried out by Palestinians.
These men and thousands who have followed them have placed their lives between us and the wolves at the gate.
Simple ask, offer up a prayer for them and for all the men and women standing in Harm's Way to protect us. And never forget them.
