Lets talk about RUN DEFENSE

While we rushed for over 300 yards yesterday against K STATE-- with Johnson going 14-139 and a 9.99 pc average and Bijan going for a ridiculous 9-172 and a 19.1 pc average-- all eye opening stats--
Kansas st still rushed for 280 yards. with tiny little deuce Vaughn having just 10 carries for 125 yards.

Now I don't care who you are playing against, a 12.5 pc average is Ass whip territory. If a defense gives up yardage like that to one guy, there's some glaring gaps that need to be filled.

I haven't watched the game again-- but what I did see last night was poor play by our LBs. Don't get me wrong, Deuce is a talented little dude-- but he's no work horse. the best game he's had this year aside from us was tech where he went 16-113 and a Td. He had two TDS against us, which is his highest all year. He also rushed for a hundred plus against Baylor.

Until we plug the gaps in our run D-- we won't be contenders.

While yesterday was concerning I would say the rush defense as a whole this year has been really good. For the year our defense is only giving up 3.59 yards a carry. But yes yesterday they had a terrible game.

Todd Orlando decimated our lb corp.. It's going to take time to rebuild. Herman isn't going anywhere. This rebuild will be very much like our basketball program. I imagine by this time next year that there will be season ticket packages between the 40 yard lines that will be on the cheap. Take your vitamins. It's going to be years b4 we win a b12 title. We may be in a different conference altogether by 2023 so we may never win another b12 title in football.

I'll add this to my extremely long list of concerns.

Despite the issues with the run defense, the defense as a whole is playing much better. It's too bad we didn't have a spring practice because if we did we might have won a game or two more.

Our Dline got pushed around yesterday. I watched sweat get pushed all the way to the secondary on one play. Juwan taking himself and one of his own teammates out of the game on one play didn’t seem to help.
