Lincoln Riley integrity poll

Do you really believe that Lincoln Riley was contact by USC for the first right before the OSU game?

  • Yes. This opportunity came up in the last minute

  • Hell No. He was plotting this for a while

Who knows. This is just my opinion, but it seems that Riley has an affinity for LA for whatever reason. That being the case, the bottom line is that USC is the plum job in the Pac 12. The name alone helps tremendously in recruiting. Combine that with a big name coach and when he starts winning, SC will scoop up all of the top talent in the west and some nationally as well. Also, you don't have to compete with Alabama and the other SEC teams that are decent at SC. There is a much easier path to the CFP in the Pac 12 vs the SEC and he's still at a blue blood program.

This. Totally agree with MM here. This was a no brainer move for LR. Other than having to live there and pay the taxes…there’s not much downside. And given what his salary may be plus the incentives, I could probably suck it up too.

I know. 2 months.

That's how long his rep has talked to USC. 2 months

I agree with what you say.
I don't fault LR for his choices at all. I believe he made sure that OU lost to OSU. Baylor too???

He had his DC, WR coach and S&C coach ready for board a plane to LA early Monday morning. These dudes have families, and I’m sure had to have a rough idea of contractual terms. There is no way all that got done In what amounts to 8-12 hours I understand why Lincoln and USC are sticking to that story but it’s BS

The OU football program might not like this, but whoever they hire as their next head coach needs to operate without Bob Stoops hanging around and standing over their shoulder. Sure, it was great that Stoops handed off the program to Riley in tip top shape, but Riley was always going to be "the next guy" who didn't build anything, standing in the shadow of a legend.

I think OU fans should be disqualified from answering this one.

I’ve heard this and not sure I agree under the premise I think you may be making the statement? Are you saying that Riley helped OU intentionally lose to OSU and Baylor so he didn’t have to play in the CCG thus allowing him to get out of town to USC faster? If so maybe so or it could also be his head just wasn’t in it and he really wasn’t game planning like he should. Whatever it was it’s been that way really all year. Who knows.

I wish Mack would of handed off the program in the shape stools did. He had a chance to, but didn’t

Nah. Baylor just kicked their a** every which way to Friday. Coach Visor Jr. knew he had bled out any physicality left over from the Stoops era, and had to get out while he still had a good name.

OU just got beat in both of those games, plain and simple. They also should have lost to Tulane, Texas and scraped by in quite a few other games and they could have easily lost three or four more games. OU had a decent year, but it could have been a whole, whole lot worse. Every program has a bad year and a dip in their program from time to time. No program is immune from it.

On balance, much easier path to the CFP in the Pac 12 than SEC. No doubt his O will put up points in the Pac 12. The bottom half of the Pac 12 is worse than the bottom half of the SEC. He'll face 2 games a year against decent to good defenses (Utah in the Pac 12 South and Oregon in the CCG). Otherwise, he should win all of the other games. Will be interesting to see what he does with Helton's recruits. If Riley is immediately successful, it'll show how little Helton did with the talent that was already there - sound familiar?

Another opinion: if Cristobal were to leave Oregon it ups the timeline for SC to be dominant in recruiting.

Final 247 national recruiting rankings for the last few years:
2021
Oregon 6
SC 7

2020
Oregon 11
SC 64

2019
Oregon 7
SC 20

2018 (Cristobal takes over at OR)
SC 4
Oregon 13

2017
SC 4
Oregon 19

I'm shocked by all this. I have a hunch why he did it, but it seemed so out of character. Riley is really really bright. He orchestrated this whole thing, including the LSU thing to divert OU's attention. But I think we'll come out of it all right. We are losing some major recruits. But if the rumor I heard is true, we'll have a few surprise pickups pretty soon.

I would be surprised if Aranda does not become the OU coach. No knowledge. Just speculating.

Did the Texas coaching staff and Austin law enforce bend over backwards to keep Bobino from getting into any trouble?

Educate yourself.
You tell me, what was his punishment? Crickets. Here's the answer Deej, there was no punishment for Bobino, none. I've looked up his criminal record, no mention, but I did find this interview with Huerta who served justice on him, perhaps Huerta should pay Mixon a visit. There you go, I just educated you since you're too lazy and would prefer to just bump your gums.

I thought Bobino was dismissed from the team? What am I missing here?

Bobino wasn't removed from the team, because the incident happened like 7 years after he graduated. The 2 incidents are apples and oranges.

Bobino an Mixon are both POS's. This is a typical Belldozer attempt to redirect and discredit.

Here's the direct question that I responded to: "Did Joe Mixon get some eligibility back and enroll at UT?"
I simply applied the same logic to the Bobino scenario. You are correct, both were wrong

Ya it’s pretty pointless to argue. They are both POS.
