Most players stay over the summer and take some summer school classes and get "intern" jobs. Belmont has a huge list of alumni that own businesses in the Austin area and they love hiring the players for internships. I worked at a bank, law firm, marketing company and investment group during my summers. The hours are flexible and you have time for a class, and work. Typically you have workouts in the evening. Combination of weight room and field practices. You're only allowed to be coached by the strength and conditioning staff (technically). The players all know that it's on them to get together and practice 7 on 7. The coaches know exactly who is showing up and getting work done. When you're practicing at DKR..... it's easy for coaches to sit up in the box and watch, then get together with the "strength coach" later and discuss what was done and what needs correcting.Anyone know if the QBs are getting the team together this summer for 7v7s, etc?
