Longhorns

There were rumors he was Mizzou's top target. If true Mizzou is a better job I'd think. So either rumor was wrong or he is crazy.

I think getting into a P5 program is an upgrade, but Iowa State is not a good job. They are a bottom dweller and don't have access to much of a recruiting base. It would take a hell of a coaching performance to turn them around. Just getting them bowl eligible has to be seen as a victory, but flirting with bowl eligible year in and year out kind of takes the shine off of you for future jobs.

the were talking about him on the radio, he has not won any type of title while he was there...conf or division....so it is a good stepping stone for him. Another job to prove himself.

The ISU job falls into the "potential career killer" category. It's one of the very worst of the P5 jobs.

Campbell may not have won a conference title yet, but he's done a nice enough job at Toledo to land something considerably better than ISU, even if he had to wait an extra year. He just led Toledo to its most successful regular season since 2001.

Good for ISU, though. I hope he does well.
