http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18139337/lsu-tigers-hire-ed-orgeron-new-football-coac. Report that his interim tag has already been removed and they will hold a press conference at 1pm today to announce it.
I wanted their DC.Too bad, I was hoping to steal a few of his assistants.
How bad do you have to suck as a head coach for a school to fire you but keep all your assistants.
He could remain at Texas under Herman. Applewhite cannot return to Texas as a coach due to the Bev Kearney lawsuit.I would not be surprised to see Ed Ogeron hire Sterling Gilbert as the OC for LSU. I think Gilbert will be massively successful at LSU.

Yes, it is still going on. I read, yesterday, that the judge cleared it to move forward. Is that lawsuit still going on? Their situations is apples to oranges. If Applewhite was caught in bed with Case McCoy then I'd see the correlation but he had an affair with a student not with one of his players. Bev was licking one of her players.
Herman would potentially bring Tom Orlando to be our DC or try to pull Aranda from LSU. Supposedly, they (Herman & Aranda) were roommates before and they want to work together.I would actually be okay if Texas were to keep the entire offensive staff. I like them all.
The guys I want gone are the defensive staff.
I don't think the Gilbert offense used the whole field like it should have. It also seemed like once film was out on Gilbert his offense was stopped pretty well....especially in the red zone. I prefer Cumbie or a Scott or even Riley from ousux. But Gilbert is young and could tweak his offense. I really like the Oline coach Mattox. He seemed to get it going a little in the run game anyway.I would actually be okay if Texas were to keep the entire offensive staff. I like them all.

Never said he would. Just said I would prefer him over some others. Why would Lincoln Riley make, at best, a lateral move to Texas? Riley's next step will be to a HC position. In fact, if Herman comes to UT I could see UH going after Riley.
Riley is 33 years old. He is in his 2nd year as the OU offensive coordinator. It would be stunning for OU to turn over the reins to a person with that much inexperience and zero head coaching experience.I can't see Riley making a lateral move. I think his next move is to a HC position and possibly if Stoops moves on.
Maybe so. But Stoops had zero HC experience when he was hired.i don't envision Stoops there much longer.Riley is 33 years old. He is in his 2nd year as the OU offensive coordinator. As for Houston, Major Applewhite is 38 and has more experience as a coordinator than Riley and Applewhite is already there. It is unlikely that Riley is promoted to HC at Houston above Applewhite.
I'm excited about his potential, his recruiting prowess, and his head coach record thus far. Herman won a lot of games with Ward (a WR playing QB). He will be able to recruit a lot better at Texas. So, after watching Herman this season and after their game yesterday, how are Horn fans liking their potential new coach? I think he has the ability to do a good job at Texas, it's just going to be interesting to see who his coordinators will be if he gets hired which appears to be imminent according to sources.
Word is, he is after Kiffin or SarkisianI would not be surprised to see Ed Ogeron hire Sterling Gilbert as the OC for LSU. I think Gilbert will be massively successful at LSU.
Good, I wouldn't want Kiffin anywhere near our program. Maybe Briles, Kiffin, & Leach can get together and "SMU" a mid-major somewhere.Word is, he is after Kiffin or Sarkisian
True or not, there's a lot of negative baggage attached to him that has cost him a HC gig and he's a hothead. Why are you throwing Leach in with those guys?
That damn Kiffen comes across as so aloof in his interviews. I'm not sure if that's just his personality or him being cocky and cryptic but that is one guy I have always been very leery of as a person and coach. Odd dude.Good, I wouldn't want Kiffin anywhere near our program. Maybe Briles, Kiffin, & Leach can get together and "SMU" a mid-major somewhere.
Exactly what you said. He's been that way every step in his career. That damn Kiffen comes across as so aloof in his interviews. I'm not sure if that's just his personality or him being cocky and cryptic but that is one guy I have always been very leery of as a person and coach. Odd dude.
