I'll be cooking hamburgers but not just any ol hamburgers. As you said this is not any ol game. Trader Joe's is literally a 3 minute walk and I will have some Angus beef burgers. Don't know what I'll have with it yet.

53 days to go and LSU still sucks and so does the whole state of LA.

Wait---- no soy burgers with kale buns?

I thought california had rules. ;)

I'm going full on spare ribs for that game. Doctor has me with no red meat for a while. If I have to go turkey or chicken, I'm going to just order a Jimmy Johns or Firehouse.

I'll be in enemy territory for that game, wouldn't mind posting up somewhere in my burnt orange to enjoy the victory surrounded by purple and gold but I may also just lay low.

I think our Defense will be able to stifle their offense. If they go HUNH, I think we have an even better chance as we are so accustomed to that and it will be only game 2 for their new offense. If they stick with a more typical LSU script, I think we stifle that as well given it has not been a very explosive offense in recent years. I'd compare that to what we were able to do to Georgia's offense.

They will have a tough defense for sure but we will also come at them with a dynamic style they aren't exactly accustomed to seeing. If our offense has made the step forward I expect, I think we can put up 28+ points which could definitely be enough.

We will know a lot more about these two teams after week 2.

We are replacing 8 starters on defense and they might have some growing pains. I'm keeping my expectations tempered about the defense until they prove otherwise. I do expect the offense to be good.

Easy bro. That's OTIC's favorite place. You don't want to piss off the Cali mob. Stab you in the eye with heroine needles they will. ;)

I have a close relationship with the Crips in southcentral I can always count on them to take care of my critics. Just one word with Snoop is all it takes.

There's a part of me that really wants to believe that!

I don't know if he has any connections in Comal county I'll check it out for you. But dyk that he is a vocal critic of Clay Helton? He's been calling on SC to fire Helton. He's the Jack Nicholson of LA fb. If the Rams or Trojans are doing great the cameras will show him standing on the sidelines.

On a serious matter have you had your surgery yet? I hope it's all good for you when it's over.

we are replacing 8 starters on Def.....but it aint like they havnt had many snaps.....I bet half of the replacements lettered. We will be fine on def.

And no way LSU goes HUNH.....do they ever do that?....even so.....we know more about that than they do.

I agree, the replacing 8 starters stat is a bit of a oversimplified stat. Think about the talent/experience of the replacements. They aren't green, and they are almost all more talented then the guys they are replacing. I am not terribly concerned.

And according to coach O, they have the no huddle offense in.
"I've seen the playbook. It's in the playbook." So there ya go. ;)

I keep hearing how our defense will take a step back because we are replacing 8 starters. That is not entirely true.

Breaking down our defense losses and returning guys.

Nose Tackle - Chris Nelson was our starter, next season he will be replaced by Gerald Wilbon, Keondre Coburn, Moro Ojomo and Jamari Chisholm. Chris was a solid starter last year and a good leader, but next year we are going to be much much better in the middle. The winner of this slot is going to have to hold off some pretty good competition. Not only that but guys like Ojomo, and Coburn can play multiple spots on the dline.

Strong side Defensive End - Charles Omenihu - Taquon Graham will be replacing a very productive guy. Taquon is not the pass rusher that Charles was, but he is going to be better in run defense. I am sure we take a step back on this position, but not as big as some would suggest.

Weak Side Defensive End - Breckyn Hager - Malcolm Roach is sliding back into his natural position of defensive end after playing most of last year as a linebacker. This is going to be a huge improvement over last year and should make up for the loss of Omenihu.

Mike Backer - Anthony Wheeler - Ayodele Adeoye and Caleb johnson will battle it out. Wheeler was our 2nd leading tackler last year so I think we take a step back this year.

Weakside backer - Jeffery McCullouch - Jeffery McCullouch is back and it seems the lights have finally come on for him. Towards the end of last season his production skyrocketed. Coming into the his senior year I expect big things from him. He is a definite improvement.

Strong side - Gary Johnson - Joseph Ossai is going to be our next great linebacker. I don't usually say that we are going to improve at a position when the guy leaving was not only the team captain, but leading tackler and best player in the front seven. Ossai is very talented and though he isn't the leader that Johnson was he is equally as talented. There will be some drop off but not much.

Corner - Chris Boyd - Anthony Cook is going to be great next year. He is by far the most talented corner Texas has had since Aaron Ross and that is saying a lot. There might be a few growing pains at the start, but he is a 1st round NFL talent.

Corner - Davante Davis - Jalen Green, Kobe Boyce, and Josh Thompson will fight for this spot, but I'm very confident Green is going to win out. Davis was a very physical corner, but overall I think Green will be a much better cover guy once he learns how to be physical. Again, I see some early growing pains but overall he will be on par with the production Davis gave us.

Nickle - PJ Locke - This is going to be a position of great improvement. BJ Foster, Kobe Boyce, Josh Thompson and DeMarvion Overshown will all fight for this spot. PJ was solid last year but our returning guys are incredibly talented and will upgrade the position a lot.

Strong Safety - Caden Sterns - Caden is back and should be improved on a freshmen season that basically had him grading out as a strong NFL prospect. He is one of the leaders next year and an impact game changer.

Free Safety - Brandon Jones - Brandon Jones. It was a surprise to me when he returned for his senior season, I expect him to go pro. He will again be one of the team leaders and an impact player. He is a strong NFL prospect and will likely be a first or second round NFL draft pick.

Over all we will lose production with the loss of Gary Johnson, Omenihu, and Wheeler but we will improve with Roach, McCullouch, and whoever wins the Nose guard spot. Corners will be solid but our safeties will be NFL level.

I am convinced our defense will not be taking a step back but rather be better especially toward the end of the year. Come Bowl time this defense will be salty.

Thanks for breaking this down. I've been refuting the losing 8 starters claim but haven't taken the time to put it down on paper.

While Wheeler and Johnson were productive at LB, how many times were we just scratching our heads about what in the world they were doing. Same goes for the CBs. There is some talent there but the new guys are also very talented and if they can play with more consistency and less head scratching moments, we will be just as good or better.

I think McCullough is the replacement for Gary Johnson. McCullough was never a starter.

Either way he’s the only guy returning on the roster that has even played a single snap at linebacker and he’s going into his senior year without making a dent. Hopefully the light turns on for him and hopefully we can find a middle linebacker.

Wasatch I'm hoping you're right. But I can tell you that during spring, we were getting very little push from our ends and even less push from our nose and 3 tech. Now I'm not saying that's how it will be come august--- but there's two areas I pride myself in being able to break down-- Dline because I played it and oline because had to scout those guys. And as I'm standing there watching one on one pass rush drills I was seeing very green offensive linemen just whipping our defensive line. Just whipping them. And these aren't Dan Neil, Blake Brockermeyer, Leonard Davis offensive lineman. Obviously if they were ----- well, we might be better on d than we look. But none of our offensive lineman are anywhere near that calibre of players.
