Malik Zaire transferring

Herman's system is predicated off of a QB that is a run/pass threat. He'd fit nicely. It won't likely happen however.

Allen is probably a better fit. I don't think we are bringing in a QB. I think Herman knows eventually His success will depend on Shane and Seth. Weather it's 2017 or 2018. Might as well keep developing both.

Allen has 2 years left and a year in the system so he would be ideal

So is stidham really that good? Because last I heard, he only started like 3 games against some not so great teams before getting injured.

Allen for 2 years doesn't thrill me. I think either Shane or Sam would move on. Zaire would only be here for a year and that might be good.
Not sure whether Shane's second half decline was due to teams figuring him out; a lingering of the rib injury; or Gilbert losing his mind on play calls. Injury seems most likely to me. Even if it is that teams figured out his weaknesses. He can work on it in the off season. He is a gamer.

I agree. Zaire would be great while the young QBs get experience. I liked everything about Shane. I think we all forget he is a freshman. There were some hesitations on decision making which I think affected his accuracy. But, he was way ahead of most true freshman that I have ever seen.

except the team, as heard is known to not be a real fan of the film room and prep work
Last I checked he was still on the team. So if he has the skills and ability to help the team the coach should utilize him or take his ship. I dont think it works like that. Since you're lazt go play another position and it's okay to be lazy there...I don't have any first hand knowledge of his behavior or habits so I can't comment further on that.

I wouldn't trade Shane for a has-been from South bend, ya'll all loved him when he was throwing them TD's and then he has a few bad games and you throw him to the dogs, I can see others moving on too, I would not be surprised if Sam E decided not to come to Texas after all this crap going on.

I think Sam E is coming,he has been wearing Horn gear since he started walking as his Dad raise him right,Austin native.

Shane will be alright he has time to grow. It would be nice to have an older QB on the team though. Next year we will pretty much rely on a Sophomore and Freshman.

Zaire is apparently eyeing schools in the northern part of the country...Wisconsin, Pitt, Michigan State as well as Florida (clearly not in the north!)

Guys, be happy with Kyle Allen, he is going to come in and give us some real competition at the QB spot and also give us incredible depth. Ehlinger can redshirt and Buechele will either step up his game and become a Longhorn great or he will have a little time to really learn the offense.

Yes he is that good. First Start he beat K-State, 2nd start lost to OU, but got hurt on a late hit in first half. 3rd game was Okie St. which BU won, but he was knocked out in first half. His throws whistle - you can literally hear the ball. If there is any chance to get this guy, regardless of how remote (and I am reading Auburn also) - he is well worth the effort. Please get him.

Is he coming to Texas for sure? I heard it was a maybe.....I hope you are right. Great pickup if true.

When did that move happen?
He sent out a tweet yesterday morning saying he was in Auburn. Not saying its anywhere close to official, its just kinda weird for him to be in Auburn on a Tuesday morning 2 months before signing day
