What are the drawbacks to wearing a vented mask?

It makes the mask useless from the point of view of protecting people around you. It still protects you the same. But, that is not the objective in a pandemic.
This should certainly not be worn by people who are sick or could be asymptomatic carriers.

masks with valves are not allowed on most air lines and many business establishments.

With these mask, I am surprised that more Liquor Stores haven't been robbed!!!!
