Matt Rhule fired....will OU go after him?

He’s got big cash in the bank now plus a buyout. He’ll be choosy. Nebraska will have to break the bank, otherwise, he waits for a bigger opportunity.

BV will get a couple more years. Who knows maybe he turns them around. Maybe he’ll score points against us next year. We’ll see in about 51-3/4 weeks.

I’m thinking he sits a year, does some TV, and then Notre Dame.

Matt Rhuke is the son of a Church of the Nazarene pastor. No sin in that.

But almost every coach in ND history has been Catholic. To be honest I don't know about Marcus Freeman.

Good catch. I was thinking he’d convert. Lol!

I'm hearing it's a strong possibility. Changes on the way up north after next Saturdays game...

Since there is no contact buyout, I’m not so sure about “breaking the bank”

what say ye?
Man, oldhorn, this thing is just getting started. I think this will be one of the crazier coaching carousels we have ever seen. Thus far, Matt Rhule, Tom Herman, Dan Mullin and others currently somewhere, but getting lured by someone else (Aranda, Leipold, Fickell, Cambell, Traylor). Funny, we have all talked about Gundy before, but it is just mind boggling how somebody at an elite program hasn't thrown the bank at him.

Already, there are open positions available in Nebraska, Wisconsin, ASU, Georgia Tech and Colorado. Brian Harsin at Auburn is sitting on a very hot seat.

The Panthers owe him 40 million dollars. I imagine he’s gonna sit at home until the perfect job comes around.

Wow. That is hard to believe. Whatever happened to Joe Brady. Didn’t Rhule fire him a year or two ago? Jow Brady was a big time hot commodity after LSUs championship.

Brady rebounded quickly. He's up in Buffalo as the QB coach. The problem in Carolina was never his fault. They just did a poor job of assembling a roster there.

Spoke to a Husker buddy.

They bout to offer Rhule all the corn in Nebraska.

Unless Rhule really doesn’t want to sit at home if I were him I’d collect my mailbox money rather than go to Nebraska

Coaches very rarely have that mindset unless they are up there in age.
I get that, and I don’t expect him to sit at home the entire time, but I would for sure be choosey and I’m not sure Nebraska is the job I’d be running too.

It will be a predicament to hire an outaide coach if Mickey Joseph gets results (within reason) the rest of the season.
