I find myself giving zero effs about all these announcements. The hat events, the look-at-me who-am-I-picking stuff made for social media? I'm over it. We offered you a contract to be paid to play football for our team. That's all. Just say yes or no.
I love the Horns. Been a fan since 1980. Was at the Georgia Cotton Bowl, Rout 66, both 60-point blowouts by OU. I was the CU debacle at Texas Stadium in 2001. Went to all three Rose Bowls. Been to the last 32 aggy games either place.
But I just don't care so much anymore about these recruiting announcements. Or waiting on pins and needles as to where some 17-year-old says he will play football. Or wringing my hands because some other kid chose aggy or OU. For all you recruitniks, that's fine, I'm not criticizing you. And recruiting news drives the site outside of games. But at this point I just don't care about waiting for kids to pick a school as much as much as I used to. Not sure why, maybe it's the NIL, or maybe I'm just old AF.
