Paul Finebaum, who by the way, says charlie should be fired, is complaining that keeping charlie until after the tcu game is disrespectful.

Soooo if we fire him before the tcu game, we have jumped the gun, (he can still win and be bowl eligible) but NOT firing him and letting him coach out the season is a disgrace...... got it.

This is what I was hoping for us to avoid. Texas is the Brangelina of the football world. No matter what we do, it gets scrutinized, hashed over, overly dissected---- annd spun to fit whatever narrative the media talking heads want it to fit. At that point, it becomes larger and larger until it reaches a boiling point.

Remember the Mack/Saban drama show? Nick wanted things kept quiet but nooooooooo..... freaking chip brown and espn wanted every little mouse fart out of Belmont broadcast with a bullhorn.

The media sh!t show has begun. Don't be surprised if we go down the same damn path as last time and have some potential coach that we COULD get, throw up his hands and say "nah.... don't need that sort of drama in my life....".

Ii don't understand why they don't say "Charlie Strong will be out at the end of the season but will coach against TCU on Friday". Playing this game of "well we are still evaluating blah, blah"really makes the department look amature.

If your sources are correct Clob and he still gets to coach the bowl game that makes them look even more disorganized.

That is why I was saying that it is like we need a press secretary or something of the like. These things get out of UT's control and you get boosters making what sound like official press releases

That may help but I think you have a deeoer problem. The jack of leadership in the AD chair is causing a situation where everyone involved is kind of doing their own deal. Mike Perrin is a booster, not an AD. Nothing against him he loves the school and is a successful guy. He doesn't have control of what goes in and out the way he should.

It is hard to distinguish. But, Perrin is saying consistently "after season's end". The national media is putting out headlines from statements made by Chip, boosters and others as official press releases.

That's what I meant a while back. That's a bad situation they got into. I saw a piece from USA Today that was a month old. They were criticizing Texas about the signal they had sent to Herman. What this country has come to like it or not. I listened to the press conference. No offense but it was a little bizarre. Good Luck with ever happens.

It's not just about what he says to the media. He needs to get all the power brokers together and say "this is how we're gonna handle things you put me in charge so here's how its going to go down." Right now there are a bunch of cooks and no chef so to speak.

I don't care if you have an AD or not. With today's media whores they want to be the first to break the news. Made up or real. I thought the AD did good by announcing the decision will be made after the season. It was the right thing and all he could do. Media will spin it to whatever they want or think.

I actually think if he was going to use the "after the season" line he probably should of issued that statement Saturday night.

Sometimes I wonder how Chip Brown and the like don't realize how they actually hurt the program that indirectly keeps them employed by trying to "report" things before anyone else, when half of it is speculation. Just back off and let this process happen without creating all the drama. SHUT UP CHIP!

@clob94 you say UT is the Brangelina of the football world. Just to clarify, this is the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie constant scrutiny media model you're referring to, right? I mean as long as we haven't entered the Angelina Jolie-Billy Bob Thornton, vial of blood around my neck, batshit crazy media model, then we should be ok.....am I right?

Someone said it on here a while back........ while I'd love to wreck Angelina's womb and rearrange her organs, I just can't drive anything Billy Bob has driven.

Saban was a done deal to Texas and the way things were handled behind the scenes was embarrassing. He would be the coach at UT if not for so many things that weren't handled properly. SMDH!!

Am I the only one who finds it funny how texags spends half the year saying that the media is in bed with UT while simultaneously everyone here says the media is out to get us?

The last couple of years the media has really annoyed me, not just sports but in general. I can't hardly watch the news or anything because all it is bashing someone for one thing or another. The constant criticism of everything is just draining and makes me sick. I have zero respect for reporters who can make any comments hey want and never have to face repercussions if it is not true. Everyone is fair game to bash except the members of the media, because they are holier than thou... I would love to see some dirt dug up on these pricks but that will never happen because no one will report it.

BOR and Fenves, like Clob has mentioned...look no further. They are the factions that has us where we are in the current news cycle.

The more I read up on these developments, the more I'm wondering if the powers that be are waiting to see if the Horns make a bowl game before making a decision? If y'all make a bowl, is it conceivable to think they give Strong another year?

Eh we looked like shit back when we fired Hoke and everybody was swearing Harbaugh would never return to Ann Arbor. How Michigan wasn't a dream job anymore and what a mess we were. Pretty similar to what's going on with you guys. Hopefully you won't have to go through another bad coach like we did when we fired Rich Rod and hired Hoke. Good luck! I'm hoping you guys become good again because I ****ing hate Oklahoma.

Thanks, and I like anyone that ends their post with "I ****ing hate Oklahoma."
