Pretty bad if we can't beat UT Arlington. Not only losing but getting blown out.
This is embarrasing....fricking UTA smoking our ass at home. Can you imagine conference play? OMG!!!! We gotta get a lot better really fast!!!
do you guys remember how this team progressed last year? at the beginning of december, they were atrocious; by march, they were formidable. this is not a case of a guy in over his head. there may be roster limitations but he will get to the tourney. and his style performs well in the tourney as opposed to conference play because it's a little different. with the one-and-dones making name programs young, as we are, you are susceptible to older, experienced teams. frankly didn't see the game. but will not panic regardless
Tourney? You have to be near .500 in league play to make the tourney, and the Big 12 is a beast of a conference. Let's focus on winning another game.

I'm a fan of coach Smart, but I used to cringe when a couple of posters assured us of his status as savior. For his faults, Barnes knew how to coach defense and most of his teams got after it on the boards.

I was wondering if he spent all of his time in the offseason campaigning for Hillary.
The problem with UT is what I stated at the end of last year in reference to this year. The team lost a lot of experience. Ridley, Ibeh and Connor as your bigs. Felix and Taylor are point guards. Look at this team, you have Shaq as a big. I'm sorry but he's not very good. You have a freshman big that's pretty good but he's a FRESHMAN to go along with another freshman big that has no offensive skills but a shot blocker. This team has NO point guard at all. You need a PG to be able to penatrate to attack and deliver good passes. This team needs to recruit 2 PG's or look to the grad transfer or juco transfer. Yancy is not a point. Davis is not a point. Mack is not a point.. We just have to hope that the team improves. If not, we will see a bad year. I don't want anyone saying, "Strong 2.0". Be patient everyone
One glaring problem, Roach and Allen are supposed to go pro after THIS year. What will we look like next year?
Roach won't go pro and if he does, he will fall inline with the likes of Kabongo and Taylor. I could see Allen going pro but he needs to step up this season.
