An new study by JAMA Pediatrics shows that infant deaths have risen in Texas since the heartbeat law went into effect. These increased infant deaths are mostly attributed to genetic defects that were detected in the womb and could have been avoided with an abortion. But instead, now the mother and father have to go through giving birth to a baby they know has a low likelihood of surviving. So now instead of grieving the loss of a baby in the womb, they have to drag out the grieving 9-18 months...and pay for the healthcare costs to keep try and keep the baby alive.
Texas' anti-abortion heartbeat law aimed to save babies, but more infants died.
Texas enacted its anti-abortion law before the U.S. Supreme Court's Dobbs ruling. Study found far more infants died in Texas than had before the ban.
