So are you saying that folks tuned in to watch the Horns in droves because from watching the product put on the field the last 2 years was enough to convince most that the Horns have the "it" factor, or do you think people were going to watch regardless? Me think it's the latter. Please define "it".Zero doubt the Horns have the "it" factor as a program.

The OP was clearly asserting that people tuned in partly or maybe even mostly because Texas has the "it" factor. Based on the previous 2 years what would he be referring to as having "it"? Now after the game I observed that Texas is improved but I certainly didn't watch the game initially because I thought Texas has "it" based on Charlie's first 2 years, I just watched it to watch it.I think a good portion of the crowd were going to watch it regardless because it was a matchup of college football royalty, with one being ranked in the Top 10 and the other with a lot of questions people were hoping to see answered one way or the other.
That being said, if you couldn't see the "it" factor on that field then I don't know what to tell you. If Notre Dame would have blown Texas out, then it would have been a ho hum victory over a still listless Texas team. But the longer that game went on with each team responding to the other's punches, the more clear it became that the winner of that game was going to have a lot of buzz around them.
Texas won a fun, suspenseful game against a team that was ranked highly and had owned them, both recently and historically. It was a big deal and it left people who understand these things realizing that Texas could have something special going on.
