Now that Maalik Murphy has been moved to the second team, what are the thoughts on this kid? Do you think he’s just a place holder, or could end up being a baller? I don’t know much about him, except that he’s a good sized pro-style QB.

I see the same thing in Ewers vs Murphy.
Murphy is an interesting prospect. He's been injured but when spring ball rolls around he'll have been healthy for a year so we'll finally get to see if he can bring something to the table.
Extremely talented kid with lots of arm talent. But he's still extremely raw. Injuries this season probably hindered his development a bit.
Natural leader. Great teammate. Will be good having him to help fill the huge cultural, leadership hole left by Roshon and Bijan.
We need someone who doesn't telegraph targets and can read defenses. Is throwing to the second or third receiver too much to ask?
It is for a freshman, imo. Epsctations were too high for Quinn. He’ll be alright next season. I think he’ll have a good bowl game now that things have slowed down a bit.
I don't know if it's accurate but I read that he will serve as backup to Ewers in the Alamo Bowl.
Without Bijan and Roschon it's a tossup. I think the defense will be fine without Overshown but now players like Jonathan Brooks need to step up.
Nope. Majors is definitely coming back. He still has a year of eligibility left and possibly 2 if he uses the Covid year. My guess is one of the youngsters take his job next season.
That’s actually why I’m really excited about this bowl game because it’s kind of a preview of what next years squad is going to look like. With our entire offensive line coming back next year I think that softens the blow of losing Bijan and Roschon.
They all can't start. If he adds quality depth in case of injury while he gets a quality education, I'll take that any day.
Good god. I don’t know why I thought he was done. What about Angilau? It looked like he was going to beat Majors for that spot anyway before injury.
Surely somebody can beat him out. The line can still be good, but will never be great with Jake Majors at center.
My guess for the line next year is
LT-Banks
LG-Connor
C-Hutson
RG-Campbell
RT-Cam Williams
Hutson has some center experience and I can see him sliding in there and taking Majors job. DJ Campbell is too good to be sitting on the bench. Cam Williams is an upgrade over Christian Jones IMO. The line should be really good next year.
We also should have some quality depth on the offensive line next season.
It is hard for me to give up on Christian Jones. I can't remember who I saw talking about him, but he is massive and moves well. He got a very late start (I think sophomore in HS) as a football player. He is still getting better. It was enough to convince me, but I guess that is what spring practices and fall camp are for.
Hopefully none of those guys have to see the field. A redshirt year for those young guys will do them good. Not everybody is Kelvin Banks.
I didn't know where to ask this question but how much of Texas football history would of changed if Andre Ware would of played qb for Texas.
Not much really. David McWilliams wouldn’t have known how to use him.
