2019 Texas Football Schedule
Saturday Aug. 31Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Knock on wood, we take out the Herman season opener curse with a substantial win that gives Casey Thompson a few 4th quarter minutes of playing time. 38-10
WIN 1-0
Saturday Sep. 7LSU Tigers
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
The hype for this is unreal. We have them at home. Herman excels in these environments. I don't think LSU is close to the level Georgia or OU were at last year, so this one doesn't bother me much. Expect a closer game though. 27-20
WIN 2-0
Saturday Sep. 14vs Rice Owls
NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
Will be closer than it should be, but hopefully we will get out to a comfortable enough lead to give backups some playing time again. 35-17
WIN 3-0
Saturday Sep. 21Oklahoma State Cowboys
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Big XII opener. Revenge game. In Austin. We will be ready. 42-24
WIN 4-0
Saturday Sep. 28 OFF
Saturday Oct. 5at West Virginia Mountaineers
Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV
Hopefully this team is never again the threat they've been the last few years. Some hiccups on the road, but a win nonetheless. 31-20
WIN 5-0
Saturday Oct. 12vs Oklahoma Sooners
Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas, TX
We may enter this game a bit cocky, and OU will be wanting to win the Golden Hat back. Their defense is better than we expect and Hurts is better than we anticipate. OU takes this one, but that's OK. 38-45
LOSS 5-1
Saturday Oct. 19Kansas Jayhawks
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Les Miles probably makes the blowout wins of yesterday eradicated, but Kansas should never be a point of concern for the Longhorns. Screw you Charlie Strong for making us say this every year. 31-10
WIN 6-1
Saturday Oct. 26at TCU Horned Frogs
Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth, TX
Too much rebuilding to best us, but this game will be tough. We are lucky to get out with the victory. 27-24
WIN 7-1
Saturday Nov. 2 OFF
Saturday Nov. 9Kansas State Wildcats
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Our players will be excited to play again after a week off. Kansas State will be totally overmatched. 42-20
WIN 8-1
Saturday Nov. 16at Iowa State Cyclones
Jack Trice Stadium, Ames, IA
Iowa State will be ranked. Iowa State also plays a style of football that matches up against us very well. We take care of business 31-17
WIN 9-1
Saturday Nov. 23at Baylor Bears
McLane Stadium, Waco, TX
This one scares me. We will be highly ranked (probably top 10), we will be looking ahead to the Big XII championship, and Baylor has some consistency. This is the biggest trap game in my opinion, and unfortunately Herman and the Horns have yet to convince me the benefit of the doubt that they'll always take care of business. A shocker in Waco 35-42
LOSS 9-2
Friday Nov. 29Texas Tech Red Raiders
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
We be pissed and knock their teeth out. 48-24
WIN 10-2
Saturday Dec. 7
Big 12 Championship
AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
Revenge game against Oklahoma. In this scenario, I'd always prefer to lose first and have the edge. We are much better prepared than we were in October and take them out for our first Big XII championship in 10 years. 42-31
WIN 11-2
Bowl Game
It's hard to make a pick on this without knowing the field. Normally I would never bet against Herman in a bowl game scenario, and I think we can beat almost anybody we are paired against. That is, unless we sneak into the playoff somehow and play opening round against Clemson or Alabama. I'm going to assume we do not make the playoff but win our bowl game.
