2019 Texas Football Schedule

Saturday Aug. 31Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Knock on wood, we take out the Herman season opener curse with a substantial win that gives Casey Thompson a few 4th quarter minutes of playing time. 38-10
WIN 1-0

Saturday Sep. 7LSU Tigers
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
The hype for this is unreal. We have them at home. Herman excels in these environments. I don't think LSU is close to the level Georgia or OU were at last year, so this one doesn't bother me much. Expect a closer game though. 27-20
WIN 2-0

Saturday Sep. 14vs Rice Owls
NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
Will be closer than it should be, but hopefully we will get out to a comfortable enough lead to give backups some playing time again. 35-17
WIN 3-0

Saturday Sep. 21Oklahoma State Cowboys
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Big XII opener. Revenge game. In Austin. We will be ready. 42-24
WIN 4-0

Saturday Sep. 28 OFF

Saturday Oct. 5at West Virginia Mountaineers
Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV
Hopefully this team is never again the threat they've been the last few years. Some hiccups on the road, but a win nonetheless. 31-20
WIN 5-0

Saturday Oct. 12vs Oklahoma Sooners
Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas, TX
We may enter this game a bit cocky, and OU will be wanting to win the Golden Hat back. Their defense is better than we expect and Hurts is better than we anticipate. OU takes this one, but that's OK. 38-45
LOSS 5-1

Saturday Oct. 19Kansas Jayhawks
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Les Miles probably makes the blowout wins of yesterday eradicated, but Kansas should never be a point of concern for the Longhorns. Screw you Charlie Strong for making us say this every year. 31-10
WIN 6-1

Saturday Oct. 26at TCU Horned Frogs
Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth, TX
Too much rebuilding to best us, but this game will be tough. We are lucky to get out with the victory. 27-24
WIN 7-1

Saturday Nov. 2 OFF

Saturday Nov. 9Kansas State Wildcats
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Our players will be excited to play again after a week off. Kansas State will be totally overmatched. 42-20
WIN 8-1

Saturday Nov. 16at Iowa State Cyclones
Jack Trice Stadium, Ames, IA
Iowa State will be ranked. Iowa State also plays a style of football that matches up against us very well. We take care of business 31-17
WIN 9-1

Saturday Nov. 23at Baylor Bears
McLane Stadium, Waco, TX
This one scares me. We will be highly ranked (probably top 10), we will be looking ahead to the Big XII championship, and Baylor has some consistency. This is the biggest trap game in my opinion, and unfortunately Herman and the Horns have yet to convince me the benefit of the doubt that they'll always take care of business. A shocker in Waco 35-42
LOSS 9-2

Friday Nov. 29Texas Tech Red Raiders
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
We be pissed and knock their teeth out. 48-24
WIN 10-2

Saturday Dec. 7
big-12-230x230.png
Big 12 Championship
AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
Revenge game against Oklahoma. In this scenario, I'd always prefer to lose first and have the edge. We are much better prepared than we were in October and take them out for our first Big XII championship in 10 years. 42-31
WIN 11-2

Bowl Game
It's hard to make a pick on this without knowing the field. Normally I would never bet against Herman in a bowl game scenario, and I think we can beat almost anybody we are paired against. That is, unless we sneak into the playoff somehow and play opening round against Clemson or Alabama. I'm going to assume we do not make the playoff but win our bowl game.
12-2

Fair breakdown but I would change a few details.
I think our average score is going to be a bit higher due to finally having a multi-year starting qb. Thinking a season average around 38ppg.

Also Baylor........ It hasn't been THAT long since Baylor was good has it? Surely we don't fall asleep when the rapey bears are around.

They were a couple seconds away from beating us this past year...in Austin

I think we beat both LSU and blOwU but lose to Iowa St as our only loss then we beat blOwU again and make the playoffs but lose our final game to Clemson.

Yep, that's why I don't feel like Baylor is going to sneak up on us. Our staff will be fully aware of the potential relaxing of focus and hopefully nip it in the bud.

Honestly I'm only worried about games 1, 2 & 6.

#1 because well.......hello maryland, twice.
#2 LSU is a great team and it will be a major step up in competition very early in the season. 50/50 game for me.
#6 Anything goes in the Cotton bowl no matter what the the betting line shows.

Everyone is afraid of Iowa State, but against teams like that our defense has never struggled. We completely shut them out, shut out Georgia, etc.. Teams like that have never given us problems. It's the air raid and the mobile QBs

OU is a concern. LSU I just don't see the hype. But they are definitely a good team and could beat us if we're not ready. We will be ready, though.
I honestly think other than OU, if it's not Baylor, our second loss might be TCU.

Look my friends, we can all play the what iff game here but let's deal in reality shall we? Now, most everyone here knows I'm one of the best posters here and for the most part am very honest with the lone exception being when I claimed to have had 2 penile reductions.....when in fact it was actually 3 but I didn't want to come off as cocky, no pun intended, of course.

The only guarantee we can have for the upcoming football season is that OU is the undisputed Big 12 Champ until Dec. at the earliest so let's sit back and enjoy the season going forward.

So much fail in every sentence, Bell, lol.

Good for you Bell, you finally got that vagina you always wanted. Keep up with the hormone therapy and your tits will come in soon.

I’m pretty close to your thoughts.

I think we lose to LSU and ISU but blow ISUs doors off in a CCG rematch. We get the Sugar again. Blow away Auburn.

We return a boat load for the 2020 season and have real depth to possibly win a natty

Tom is nails in big games, LSU will be a real test for our offense, but I like our defense to make them wish they didn't agree to this game. I think we win this one by our kicker. They lose it because of theirs.

23-21

I'll put at us 10-2 regular season. Safe bet would be a loss to either LSU or OU1 and then some other game (WVU, Iowa St., Baylor or a complete surprise). Now we could win both LSU and OU and drop 2 we don't expect but I think 10-2 is most likely. We are getting close but haven't quite turned the corner yet in regard to playing 12 complete games in a row.

That would put us in the big12 championship with a chance for a NY6 bowl depending on how things shake out.

Well, LSU was way better than I thought they'd be. Now we have to either beat OU or play perfect in all other games. WVU doesn't look scary at all, but Oklahoma State looks way scarier than I thought.

Saturday Sep. 21Oklahoma State Cowboys
DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Big XII opener. Revenge game. In Austin. We will be ready. 42-24
WIN 4-0

If losing the last 4 games to OSU and losing the last 5 in Austin isn't enough motivation, I really doubt it being a "revenge" game would be either

I know... this is really bad. Herman needs to get this turned around asap. Losing anything to cowpoke is pathetic.

The OSU game make me very nervous. The Cowboys under Gundy are always a handful.

And they seem to have answered the question at Quarterback, again...
Yes, my opinion on this game has changed after seeing the first couple weeks of the season. I still think Texas will win, but it won't be so easy. Oklahoma State has an offense that is really working, but so does Texas. Unlike LSU who was able to get some stops, I don't think Ok St will be as successful. May be the same kind of game except flipped, with Ok St chasing a Texas lead. It will be a tough out, for sure.

I remember Strong's home game against OSU. The penalty differential was off the charts. I recall a defensive holding being called on a D lineman on a run play, lol. I remember the head ref was tracked down to a Lubbock address and was a serial Texas hater. Funny, he received so many death threats that he was reassigned after the season. It was comical. Do you think T. Boone wrote one last check to the officials for next weeks game or do you think he left the payment in his last will and testament?
