The draft is coming up on Thursday and for the second time in the last three years a UT player will not be drafted. And until then we had a player drafted every year for more than 70 years. Maybe Hassan Ridgway will get drafted but I'm not counting on it.

But even more crazy is that Baylor and TCU will lead the Big XII in players drafted. The frogs could have as many as 6 players from their offense drafted. They also have a kicker who might get drafted as well. I'm telling ya from an old timer like me who remembers the SWC, I would have never believed that TCU would be able to run with the big dogs. I mean for 40 years they were awful. There was a reason they weren't invited to join the Big XII. Then you have Baylor. Even without that ***hole Shawn Oakman they will have at least three players go in the first two days and a few more on day three. In fact there will be three players from Baylor and TCU drafted in the first round and no one from Texas or Oklahoma. Now I'm beginning to understand why Oklahoma' s recruiting in Texas has declined.

In the words of the great Bob Dylan, the times they are a changin

Ridgeway is projected to go in the second or third round.

Look for that draft trend to change in 2 years...this year on the field, will be the beginning of a beautiful thing.

I hope Hassan does. And I can see the trend changing as well.

Baylor is something of a surprise but TCU is a shocker I mean they went years without anyone being drafted.

Our current secondary not including in-coming freshmen has 5 guys that will be getting drafted over the next 3 NFL drafts. Davis, Hill, and Boyd are the ring leaders, but Locke and Elliott are also a pretty good bet to get drafted as well.

Sherod Evans, John Bonney and Antwan Davis are guys that have some ability but not sure if they will get the chance. Evans and Davis should offer good senior leadership. I could see them having an impact enough to get picked up in the later rounds. It's going to be hard for anyone to break into the starting lineup this is one deep secondary.

Not sure how you already know that no Texas player will be drafted in a draft that hasnt even happened yet... especially when we have ppl projected to go in the 2nd round........

Hassan Ridgeway will be the only Texas player drafted? I can't see any of our other guys getting drafted.

The Johnson boys?
Taylor Doyle?
Duke Thomas?

C'mon.

And if I'm wrong I will gladly start a thread saying I was.

My greater point is that Baylor and TCU of all put people will lead the Big XII in players drafted. TCU. Do you remember how awful they were for forty years?

You said this would make 2 of the last 3 years that no Texas player was drafted.... we had someone drafted last year... and Ridgeway is projected to be a 2nd rounder...... that is the only issue I have with anything you said. The rest of your points were valid and I can agree with. ;)

We didn't have anyone drafted in 2014. But if Hassan gets drafted there will be no 2 out of 3. Please football gods let at least one UT player get drafted this year I can't handle any more embarrassments :)
