The day is finally here. The regular season is over, the conference tournaments have been played and it is officially time for the NCAA Tournament madness to begin. The Texas Longhorns know that they have done enough to secure a Top 16 Regional Host as we found out yesterday during the Big 12 Championship game. The question now is, what is their overall seed and who will be coming to Austin Texas for the Regional. In addition, the Horns will find out who they are paired up with in a Super Regional. Is Texas State or UTSA headed to Austin? Who will be the 2 seed be in Austin? Will it be a struggling Arkansas team, a power hitting Arizona squad or does the NCAA get crazy and send LSU to face off against Texas?
I will have full coverage of the NCAA Selection Show that will happen today on ESPN at 11am CST and a full write up and breakdown with my thoughts afterwards, so tune in!
ESPN (may) have already spoiled some of the fun during last night's late night Pac-12 Championship game between the eventual champions Stanford and Oregon State. While I want to believe this is NOT the order, it actually looks pretty close to what I am expecting, so I would not be shocked if this is the order. That said, how in the world does Auburn get an 8 seed (if this is correct)?
1. Tennessee
2. Stanford
3. Virginia Tech
4. Oregon State
5. Texas A&M
6. Maryland
7. Miami
8. Auburn
9. Texas
10. Southern Miss
11. North Carolina
12. Louisville
13. East Carolina
14. Oklahoma State
15. Florida
16. Georgia Southern
To be clear, the graphic below shows Texas as the 9 seed which would be paired up with the 8 seed (Auburn).
