Today I wasn’t paying enough damned attention at Houston Hobby and I tripped. Fear I’ve pulled my quad. It hurts like hell to walk. Popped some Acetaminophen st 0900 followed by Ibuprofen at 1500. Alternated heat and ice on the flights. Supposed to be walking the Gettysburg, Antietam and Valley Forge battlefields this week. Any chance that happens? Even if slowly? I figure with the wealth of athletes in here, someone is familiar with this injury.

Sorry to hear this Freeper. I actuallt tore my quad 10 years ago playing left field in a softball game. Went down like someone shot me. Never been the same and have an indention to this day on my quad. Like 2300 said, ice and heat. Get better my friend and enjoy the battlefields. I want a report when you return.

Oh, and GO USMNT!

Bob and Brad are physical therapists on youtube that put out quite a bit of videos. They are pretty knowledgeable, experienced and kind of funny as well. They are my "go to" for some the injuries I get. There is no quick fix, unfortunately. Here is a general video, but you can search others that can pinpoint something closer to what and where your injury is.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I made it through Antietam and two days of Gettysburg. Couldn’t go today, too much pain and bruising coming to the surface. Meds didn’t help last night so I took the day off. Lots of ice today and the meds are catching back up. Alternating 600 mg ibuprofen with 1000 acetaminophen.

My buddies have been very good about assisting me while also dealing an appropriate amount of crap to me as you would expect from a bunch of retired cops/veterans. Still managed some memorable experiences thus far. Thanks again for all the help.

Look at this as a teaching moment------ to yourself.

Stretching every morning is important.

Make sure you don't get calcification or compartment syndrome. Keep up the rehab.
I don’t know what those are but neither sounds good. Taking a second day off. Pain is manageable now although it hurts like hell when I first stand up. More ice today. The bruising seems a little larger but the swelling has gone down a bit.

Gettysburg is an up and down summbitch. Maybe get a scooter for that. And it’s very widespread.

I think if you’re in a car the walking shouldn’t be too bad.

Have t been to Antietam or Valley Forge

Guess I should’ve read further. How’d you like Gettysburg?

Had football players get either hit hard in the thighs/hip or pulled a hammy. A Spurs doctor once told me that using a whirlpool, later in the healing process, would help prevent the site of bleeding/clot from solidifying and not cause the muscle to tear, worse, at that point of injury. Athletes healed ok, so it worked for us.
