Wanted to try a new bourbon for old fashioneds and a friend told me to find Buffalo Trace. Took a few stores before I finally found it. But, have to say, it's pretty damn nice!
The same friend suggested I be ready for the ladies with a new cocktail he discovered. Just take some Solerno, blood orange liqueur, not always easy to find but it is around (Italian-run liquor stores and Specks and Total Wine - big places carry it but don't always have it in stock). It's really smooth and 80 proof. Anyway.
Scotch glass.
2 fingers Solerno.
Grab some lemon soda water or even lemon Perrier, around 2 fingers.
Get some Angostura bitters, just a drop.
Ice.
Bit of orange peel you should have handy for making old fashioneds.
Nice and light, chicks dig it. But a decent alternative to beer on a warm day.
Merry Christmas!
