President Obama’s foreign-policy guru Ben Rhodes bragged about how he helped create the false narrative because the public would not have accepted the deal had it known that Iranian hard-liners were still calling the shots.
This comes from a former novelist who wrote one short story until his mother's connections got him a job in foreign policy! One who has high self regard and thinks that everyone else is a phony.
Leon Panetta is quoted in this article that he believes at one time Obama was way more serious about keeping Iran from getting a nuke than he was towards the end, saying he no longer believes he is serious.
"For the last seven years the American public has been living through a postmodern narrative crafted by an extremely gifted and unspeakably cynical political operative whose job is to wage digital information campaigns designed to dismantle a several-decade old security architecture while lying about the nature of the Iranian regime. No wonder Americans feel less safe—they are."
