Going into the 8th inning against the Cubs on Wednesday, it looked like the Mamelhorn thread streak was going to be surviving on yet another lackluster 2-1 series victory. However, two innings and six runs later, the juice was flowing by the gallon as the Stros pulled off the series sweep.

The next opponent daring to attempt to put an end to the Mamelhorn thread streak? The Oakland Athletics…

Not only are the A’s the proud owner of baseball’s worst record, but they are spectacularly bad at all aspects of the game:

Team Batting Average: 229 (26th of 30)
Team ERA: 7.13 (30th of 30)
Team Defensive Runs Saved: -23 (30th of 30)

Projected Pitching Matchups (all times CDT):
Tonight @ 7:10 - Brandon Bielak (0-1, 3.29 ERA) vs. Ken Waldichuk (1-2, 7.02 ERA)
Tomorrow @ 3:10 - Hunter Brown (4-1, 3.43 ERA) vs. JP Sears (0-3, 5.27 ERA)
Sunday @ 1:10 - Framber Valdez (3-4, 2.84 ERA) vs. Kyle Muller (1-3, 7.71 ERA)

On top of all that, the Astros get their leader back tonight:

Simply put, this needs to be a series that ends the same way the Cubs series did…with broom .GIFs. Let’s GITT early and often to keep the juice flowing, and GO STROS!!!
