After seeing some of the conversation following my most recent report on Baylor and engaging, regrettably, with individuals who view me as a "quitter," it is important that I make this distinction: this is technically more of an indefinite "pause" than a "quit". Sometimes you can pause things forever, sometimes just for a small amount of time.
If information comes to light in the situation that changes the dynamics, or if people begin to feel different ways about what they're comfortable with, or what they're willing to put out there, etc. you can be sure I'll be back at it. If I get a new lead that brings with it a less complicated and tricky set of issues among sources, that's a new ball game, too.
Right now, I have people to protect who haven't been protected before and I don't give a damn about anything else. It has nothing to do with being threatened or slandered by cowards.
Reporters are on this, it's getting to be a bigger and bigger story. We all need to keep talking about it, but I need to pause immediately from the line of reporting and investigation that has now concluded with my most recent report.
