It appears the Pac XII/Big X/ACC alliance is a done deal. Could be announced as early as next week. But what does that mean? Non conference games against each other but beyond that I don't know. The Big X tv contract isn't up until after the 2023 season. The Pac XII contract isn't up until after the 2024 season. The ACC contract is good for another 13 years. Like I said not sure how this going to work probably not at all
If a contract is signed

it would be the dagger for the rest of the Big XII. And that's sad. OSU, TT, TCU, ISU, and Baylor have made significant upgrades to their athletic departments not just fb. The Big XII is probably the best bb conference in the country and Baylor has the best overall hoops program in the country. There's a good reason to believe that what ISU did last year was not a fluke.

But those schools did not produce on the fb field. Sure OSU, TCU, Baylor, KSU, went to some P6 bowls and won a few of them but they didn't capitalize on it. Has anyone besides me ever noticed that no other Big XII school has cracked the top 25 in recruiting classes? And that tells you all you need to know as to why the Big XII is dead last in sending players to the NFL.

I love tradition its why college fb is so much better than the NFL. But TX and OK are pissing on it. And TX doesn't understand the ramifications if Sarkisian doesn't work out.

Finally TX has always had a bullseye on their back but it's gotten a lot bigger now. FB is a game of intimidation and people will try to hurt you. But some teams are going to really try to hurt TX and OK this year even if it means player ejections. But I'm burnt orange forever.

Everyone in college football has started drawing lines in the sand after the Texas/OU migration. It's survival mode right now. Expect to see at least 2 schools do something stupid in the next 18-24 months.

Doubt the college game will be hurt. Just schools scrambling how to make more money now that the SEC has upped the ante with the networks. Just capitalism, man.
