OSU goes 12-1 two straight years, no CFP?

Will the Buckeyes missing the playoffs with only one loss, but no big 10 title push the playoffs to 8 teams next time around? I think the power 5 conference champs should be automatic, then a 3 top rated teams by like and RPI should get 3 at large spots, like a Louisville, Michigan and Buckeyes...

Penn St holds the tie breaker against OSU. They won't make the championship game.

I see I didn't realize PSU's other loss wasn't in conference.

Regardless it will eventually get out to eight, I don't think it needs to go any further though. Doubt it happens after this year. They'll be too busy counting money to worry about what happened to OSU.
