I spend a few thousand a month on Amazon Prime for my home and business.
I pay the CC balance monthly, and currently get 2% cash back on all purchases, no limit.
I see Amazon has their own 5% back offer, that I may as well take advantage of.
But which of their 2 card options is better?
They have a Prime Rewards Visa, but it seems that you earn "points" rather than true cash back. Then you have to redeem the points. I'm not clear if you redeem for points, or for credit on your bill, but it seems a pain. Main advantage is that it is a real Visa, with some additional protections, though I already have a better card for all of that.
They have a Prime Store Card, which I think is just direct Amazon credit, not a Visa. So you can't use it anywhere else. The 5% back is not direct cash either, but instead is a monthly credit to your statement. Seems easy enough to just save 5%. This card also offers some interest free financing options, but that really doesn't apply to me, as I pay the total balance every month.
Anyone using either of these methods?
Pros and Cons? Something I'm missing?
