Was just watching preliminary races, pretty amazing the technical marvel these hydrofoils are today. I refrain from calling them boats because they are closer to aircraft than sailing craft these days.

As a former rec/competitive sailor, it saddens me how much of the actual seamanship has been removed from the race resulting from all the tech thrown at the boats. We're only a small step from am AI robot sailing the boat. It's a long way from Dennis Connor's monohull, single keel sailboat.
