I haven't spent too much time in Austin over the last few years. What are the top restaurants in Austin right now? I have some friends that are coming in town from Atlanta that have never been to Austin before. My recs off of the top of my head were Lins Asian Bar, Comedor, Franklin (if they're willing to wait in line), Interstellar LA BBQ or Black's (if they don't want wait), and Suerte. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance guys.

Great list. Uchi/Uchiko has to be on that list and deserves it as much as anything else. It really put Austin food on the map. It's my favorite sushi restaurant anywhere. I think one BBQ restaurant visit is enough for the weekend. Lin's for Sunday dim sum is pretty great, but probaably not anything they cant get in Atlanta.

Good luck and have fun!

Can’t go wrong with Uchi and it probably is the best in Austin to be fair. I take it for granted.

Do they want Tex Mex, BBQ, Mexican , Pizza or do they want foo-foo cuisine?

Incredible. One of the best in Austin, but with Comedor already on their list, who else would you sacrifice when their friends visit Austin? :)
Never been to Comedor but always hear good things about it. We always take out of towners to San Miguel and it never disappoints. To be sure, it doesn't have that downtown vibe, but still....
