AT&T is finally running fiber in our neighborhood in Houston and I'm planning to switch to that and thinking about cutting the cord since that was our main reason for sticking with Xfinity/Comcast. I love this board's advice on things like this, but the best thread I could find is a bit out of date. It's general theme was don't cut the cord, but we're getting well up there in cost at this point.

A few facts that might be pertinent:
  • We have 6 TVs that would need access to the service, 5 of which current have different level cable boxes. 3 are 4K, the rest are HD.
  • Most of the TVs are smart, but we have 4-5 Rokus and one Nvidia device to help with channels not supported on the smart TVs (only one has built in Chromecast)
  • We have Netflix, Amazon, and Disney Plus as paid extras.
  • We are fairly close to the big broadcast towers, so get great antenna signal from them
  • We have Verizon for cellular but are open to switching back to AT&T again
  • Definitely need access to sports, major network channels, some DVR function, extra packages, etc.
  • There are 2 adults and 2 teens
I have done trial runs of Sling, Hulu, YouTube TV, etc. for various short term reasons, but didn't pay close attention to the impact. I was hoping there was a comparison site that allowed you to pick what you were interested in and it would compare services, but I couldn't find anything.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
