Watched the flight tracker and I'm trying to figure out what happened before the reports are released.
So at 37,000 feet, the plane banks hard left at 90 degrees. Then banks hard right shortly after. Then makes a rapid decent down to 20,000 while it's making a 360 degree spiral turn.
So we've got a couple of possibilities-- anybody in here a licensed pilot?
1st- aileron or tail rudder failure. Possibly, especially because Airbus uses a computer system that likes to "over correct" a problem automatically after it happens. This would explain a hard turn followed by the plane's computer forcing it into a complete circle turn.
2nd-- stupid pilot. Unlikely, but you can never rule out pilot error or just being a dumb terrorist. But this guy had over 6000 flight hours and over 2000 in this aircraft type. The co-pilot had over 4000 hours so I doubt they are stupid.
3rd-- somebody went derka derka jihad. A small explosion in the rear of the aircraft could cause a hard turn like this. I just flew home out of France as many of you know, and I can tell you first hand that the French don't play when it comes to security. Hell they flagged me for having a can of Copenhagen. I had to take it out and open it up and put a dip in before they let me go.
This leaves me with a logical question: Where did this flight travel to in the previous 24 hours? That bomb, if it was a bomb, could have been loaded on that plane in Egypt, Libya, saudi, anywhere.
Need to pray for those poor people.
