“We’ve been catching limits of 88- to 100-pound yellowfin,” said Mac Owens of Deep Sea Headquarters. He said they’ve been nabbing the tuna about 150 miles off Port Aransas.
About 40 miles offshore, folks have been reeling in limits of kingfish, plus grouper and vermilion snapper, Owens said.

I'm taking a buddy of mine to PINS this weekend to fill up an icechest. Probably looking at pompano, whiting, & the occasional bull red.

I caught 2 big Flounder this morn, threw back 2 too small tuna, they jumping outa the water..lol
Two tuna? If the yellow fins are running I'm going to be pissed. I leave town Monday. Gotta run down there this weekend and see if I can't snag a few for the freezer. Hurry up and tell me your taco joint you old fart.

So, I feel pretty proficient at finding and catching reds and trout, as long as the weather isn’t too crazy. But, flounder have always eluded me unless I’m with a guide. In the areas around Aransas Pass and Port A, what’s the strategy I need to use to put a few in the cooler?

Hold ya mouth right angle and have patience, and quietness, I use live shrimp on the bottom, a flounder will jerk different than any other bottom fish, but, ya got to be fast, sometimes its just a little hit, got to get ya feel on the line...and drink Shiner reg wouldn't hurt..look up against the bank on that shelf before the drop off bs!

Water temp is still a little too warm for the big flounder run but it will be soon. Guessing about the 1 week of dec.

They are still deep, i caught mine just floating down the banks slowly, seems as if they are on that shelf before it drops off to deeper water, I go in Morn real early before all them Nitro fisherman get cranking and in the evening 2 hrs till dusk..I stay at it, gotta have patience, only thing is I gotta hit the shore about once so Stranger can pee or take a dump..lol, its great to have a old Lone Star Alum boat, damn boat was bought when I was a teen by my Grandpa with a 5 horse Johnson fast enough for me and I can get way up in the Shallow water
