I'll start. Shortly after high school, I moved to Tempe, AZ with my high school best friend. While there I met a gal that was from the northeast who was my same age. We were both 18 and on our own and didn't really have a support system far away from home. Anyway, after a year I moved to Los Angeles and we loosely kept in touch via text, but eventually it sorta faded.
A number of years later, while I was driving to Oregon I stopped off in Phoenix to sleep. I pulled into a gas station, not close to where I used to live, sorta the other side of town. When I turned the car off, I gave my best friend a call and told him I was back in our own stomping grounds. He joked "Oh, remember that chick you knew, Allison, you should look her up.". I told him I hadn't talked to her in a couple of years. It was a short call and after we hung up, I opened my car door and stepped out, and who was standing across the car next to me? Allison. We had just joked about calling her.
The chances of that happening... I can't compute. It will always haunt me.
