. . . well, maybe not new, but certainly history. Take time over several nights to watch the 1960 presidential debates (links below) and prepare to have your mind blown by:
1. how civil the candidates are to each other,
2. how well-prepared and articulate they are, and
3. how, amazingly, they were grappling 64 years ago with many of the very same issues we are dealing with today.
Makes me wish we had videos of the famous 1858 Lincoln-Douglas Illinois senatorial debates too.
I have highly recommended to my kids to go back and watch these debates from 1960. The quality of the discourse is truly amazing:
