It's hard for me to get a handle on what to expect from UT basketball at this point. I mean, it'd be easy to say "wow, overtime against UTA? that's not a good sign", but UTA actually won at both Memphis and Ohio State this season already. Granted, I don't know if Ohio State is actually good this year, but they have been in the not-too-distant past, as has Memphis.
Beyond that, I have less of a concept of how long it should take, or how reliant on different recruits it will be, for Coach Smart's system to start working to start producing the results we hired him to bring. Should the team be a lot better by the end of the season? Do they need different players to make it work, so it will take a year or two to get them in? What is everyone thinking on this?
But yeah, the dunk was great. And when the team was playing aggressively they looked pretty good. It just wasn't something they did as much early on in the game.
